A high school senior has been suspended after writing a poem about the deadly shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, according to Huffington Post.
The 17-year-old student from San Francisco says she wrote the poem to understand what happened. However, a teacher became alarmed after reading lines in which the student stated she knows why the shooter pulled the trigger. She also said society is ?full of haters and blamers? in the poem.
The student claims the poem is harmless, likening it to author Stephen King?s works and saying he too made questionable remarks in his writings for the sake of art.
The senior attends Life Learning Academy, a charter school for students who reportedly haven?t been successful at other schools.
